  1.              EZYPRO README - LAST MINUTE UPDATE INFORMATION.
  2.              -------------------------------------------------

  4.   This file lists changes to the EZYPRO package  since the last release
  5.   of the documentation. The changes listed here should be included in the 
  6.   next release of the documentation.

  12. EPROMENU - List recent callers
  13. ------------------------------
  14.  
  15.   The screen below illustrates the first of the two screens used for the 
  16.   Caller list function accessed via the EPROMENU Misc menu (Last option). 
  17.   This function is provided to enable the sysop to view a list of users 
  18.   who have called the BBS yesterday and today.
  19.  
  20.   The default view is todays calls, unless the Ezycom file TODAY.BBS cannot
  21.   be located or has no callers, in which case the function will start with
  22.   yesterdays callers.
  23.  
  24.   If both yesterdays and todays caller files are missing EPROMENU will
  25.   pop up a window with an error message. If you see this, press any key to
  26.   get rid of the error message and determine the reason why EPROMENU cannot 
  27.   locate the files. (They normally reside in your Ezycom system directory).
  28.  
  29.   If you have a regisatered version of EZYPRO AND BOTH of the Ezycom
  30.   users files (USERS.BBS and USERSEXT.BBS), can be located in the directory
  31.   specified in your Ezycom configuration you will be able to press ALT-V
  32.   from the list of callers.
  33.  
  34.   When you press ALT-V you will be asked to type a number corresponding to
  35.   the numbers down the left column of the screen. The number must not exceed
  36.   the number of callers for the day currently being displayed. Once you type
  37.   a valid number the caller function will scan your user file to see if the
  38.   selected user is still recorded on the user files. If he/she is a summary
  39.   screen showing some of the users details will be displayed. This is the
  40.   second of the screens as shown below.
  41.  
  42.   For privacy, some of the details have been changed. Eg. The passwords and
  43.   phone numbers do not really show as XXXX and 9999-9999 numbers on the
  44.   real screens
  45.  
  46.   Press ESC at any time to return to the EPROMENU menu.
  47.  
  48.   Press F1 at any time for a help screen.
  49.  
  50.   Press the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to select the day to be displayed. 
  51.   LEFT = Yesterday, RIGHT = Today.
  52.  
  53.   While in the caller list press HOME, END, PgUp and PgDn to scroll through
  54.   the list of callers.

  116. EPROMENU - Filebase utilities

  119.   FILES.BBS generation
  120.

  122.   The second of the file base utilities provide the capability to generate
  123.   a FILES.BBS file listing each file and its descriptions for all file areas
  124.   within a specifed range. The only exceptions being CDROM areas whose files
  125.   BBS path is on the same drive as the CD area, or areas that are in invalid
  126.   paths (ezycom will allow you to specify and invalid Files.Bbs path).
  127.  
  128.   The primary reason for inclusion of this function is to provide an extra
  129.   level of redundncy for your BBS by providing you with a means of quickly
  130.   and easily importing file names and descriptions back into your file base
  131.   should it ever become corrupted. There are other uses as well, such as
  132.   the ability to share filebases, between different BBS systems and more.
  133.  
  134.   Type the first area to be included in the FILES.BBS creation and press
  135.   Enter. The TO path will default to the FROM path. Either press Enter to
  136.   accept it or type the TO area number where processing is to end. This
  137.   area number must be greater than or equal to the FROM area, and less than
  138.   or equal to the maximum areas defined on your BBS.
  139.  
  140.   You can also opt for long or short descriptions. The default is SHORT.
  141.   Press SPACE, S, or L to toggle between LONG and SHORT, Enter to accept
  142.   and begin processing.
  143.  
  144.   The FILES.BBS is created in the same directory as the files. If one
  145.   already exists it will be overwritten. Therefore, before running this
  146.   function you should consider running EZYADOPT if you have new files in
  147.   the directory that may not have been processed.
  148.  
  149.   The FILES.BBS that is generated has two fields. The file name and the 
  150.   description. The file name (including the extension), will be up to 12
  151.   characters. The 13th position is always blank. The description always
  152.   starts at position 14. 
  153.  
  154.   If the description is a single line (short), it will be up to 60 
  155.   characters long. If the description is LONG each line from the second 
  156.   line onwards is prefixed with the pipe symbol (|).

  186.   If the list function cannot create a FILES.BBS (eg because of an invalid
  187.   path), the program will stop and wait for you to respond. Press ESC to
  188.   abort the function, or any other key to continue processing with the next
  189.   area.

  191.   Fatal errors will cause EPROMENU to terminate the list finction and end 
  192.   with the standard error detail display.
  193.  
  194.   In some environments an error 86 (sharing conflict), may occur where a 
  195.   user is logged onto the BBS and is working with the file area currently
  196.   being processed.
  197.  
  198.   The list function does not check your disk space prior to creating the 
  199.   FILES.BBS. You should ensure that you have sufficient space to create
  200.   these files.
  201.  
  202.   Also, if you have file areas set to 'adopt = yes' or use the 'Convert'
  203.   switch on Ezyfile then Ezycom may process the FILES.BBS thereby slowing
  204.   down your maintenance.

  209. EPROMENU - Selective User Base Enquiry
  210. --------------------------------------
  211.   
  212.   The selective user base enquiry provides the sysop with a powerful set of
  213.   rules by which he/she can locate and view user statistics.
  214.  
  215.   There are nine categories of criteria available. Of those, 4 have a set of
  216.   sub criteria. Refer to the screen below. The left most menu shows the nine
  217.   main catergories. The right most menu is the sub criteria menu for the 
  218.   'dates' criteria.
  219.  
  220.   On either menu use the Up, Down, Home  and End keys  to scroll through the 
  221.   list of options. On the subcriteria menu press LEFT to go back to the main
  222.   criteria menu. On the main criteria menu, if a  sub-criteria menu is shown
  223.   press RIGHT to select the sub criteria. Press Enter to accept an option.
  224.  
  225.   The 'criteria' window will display the rule being used. Press space to set
  226.   the rule to its displayed opposite. For example, 'Not set' it the opposite
  227.   of 'set'. 
  228.  
  229.   All options except the flags option will request an additional value. Type
  230.   the  value you  want to use to  restrict the inclusion or exclusion of the
  231.   resulting data and then  press Enter. The enquiry will then scan your user
  232.   base  and generate a display of matching  user records.

  516. area you specify and the ending area specified. Any descriptions whose first
  517. no blank character is not in upper case is converted to upper case. Words
  518. such as IBM, Microsoft and other nouns, plus common file extensions such as
  519. ZIP, GIF, EXE etc are converted to upper case.
